My 2 Certificates

This was a reward after my perseverance to see Mosterio Sao Jeronimos which was closed on Mondays. I took the tram # 15 but because it rained so hard, the street flooded & cause a problem with the electric tram. Finally boarded Bus #728 to get to Belem, not too far from the city center of Lisbon. Italian gelato, yummmmmyyyyy.

Thanks to this tram, I would have had to climb a very steep hill.

October 13,2014 Monday Azulejos Tiles

Portugal is noted for their beautiful tiles, there is a Museum dedicated to tiles. Lots of buildings have tiled walls on the front of the building like this ones that I took close up photos.

October13,2014 Monday The City of Lisboa

At the Portal do Sol, it would have been better sightseeing if not for the rain. No matter, I am having a great time in Lisbon. Very hilly, so I bought an all day tram & bus ticket & it worked very well. It is an easy city to navigate though the streets were kind of cut short & gets another name. Many rotundas & Prazas, enough open spaces for the people to enjoy, typical of old cities. I just find the Portuguese people are not as friendly or helpful as the Spanish people. When I asked a Spaniard where a place is, most of them even walked me over instead of just giving directions. I really thought that was great. But when I asked where Sao Roque (St. Rock) & actually show them the word, I do not know was the answer. Anyhow, I found a Policeman & he helped me.
